Mariani’s Summer Interns Gain Valuable Experience
Each summer, Mariani selects several promising college students to serve as interns. While working toward their degrees in the landscape field, interns assist in day-to-day operations and gain experience working with Mariani’s talented team of professionals.

Jenna Whalen
A Landscape Architecture major from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Jenna (shown below with Frank Mariani and Marketing Director Carrie Woleben Meade) assists the design team with document rendering, site surveys and Auto-CAD designs. Jenna serves as Vice President of the University of Illinois ASLA Student Chapter. She will graduate next spring and hopes to begin a career with a design-build firm specializing in residential work.

Heather Thurow
Heather is a senior at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and is a double major in Construction Management and General Agriculture. As an intern, Heather works closely with the maintenance representatives. She accompanies representatives on client meetings, assists with design plans and observes the installation crews at work. After graduating in December, Heather looks forward to continuing her passion for design but also building relationships with clients.

Jacqueline Drury
A senior at Purdue University, Jacqueline is working toward her Bachelor of Science in Landscape Horticulture Design. Upon completion of her summer internship at Mariani, Jacqueline will travel to Crete, Greece, to study abroad. She is a native of Danville, Indiana.
